Missions
Quick-turnaround projects that serve the whole builder community — from ideas to rewards
What are Missions?
Missions are focused, short-term projects designed to serve the entire Intuition ecosystem builder community. They represent open contributions that advance shared infrastructure, tools, documentation, or resources that benefit everyone.
Unlike grants (which fund longer-term, individual projects), missions are:
- Quick turnaround — can be from a few hours of work to several weeks
- Community-first — benefit the whole ecosystem, not just one builder
- Open source — results are public and reusable
- Well-scoped — clear deliverables and success criteria
Mission Principles
For the Community
Every mission must serve the broader builder community. Ask yourself:
- Will this help other developers build on Intuition?
- Does this create reusable infrastructure or knowledge?
- Will this reduce friction for ecosystem participants?
Open by Default
Mission work and outcomes are open source unless there's a compelling reason otherwise. This includes:
- Code repositories
- Documentation and tutorials
- Tools and templates
- Research findings
Mission Lifecycle
1. Ideas Phase
New missions start as ideas in our GitHub Project Board.
Anyone can propose missions by:
- Opening a discussion on the project board
- Describing the problem and proposed solution
- Explaining community benefit
- Estimating scope and timeline
2. Backlog
Approved ideas move to the backlog where they're:
- Refined with clear success criteria
- Assigned priority levels
- Given estimated rewards (when applicable)
3. Application Open
When ready, missions move to "Application Open" status with a specific closing date for applications.
How to Apply:
- Comment on the GitHub issue expressing interest
- Share relevant experience or portfolio
- Provide a brief approach outline
- Mention your estimated timeline
Application Deadlines & Selection: Each mission has a closing date for applications. The selection process depends on community response:
- No applications received → Closing date is extended, reward may be adjusted to attract contributors
- Single application → Evaluated based on qualifications and approach
- Multiple applications → Team reviews all applications and selects the best fit based on experience, approach, and timeline
All applicants are notified of the selection decision regardless of outcome.
4. In Progress
Once assigned:
- Work begins with the selected contributor
- Regular check-ins ensure progress
- Community can follow updates on GitHub
5. In Review
Completed work goes through community review:
- Code review (if applicable)
- Community feedback
- Quality assurance
- Documentation verification
6. Pending Payment → Paid
After successful review:
- Payment is processed
- Work is merged/published
- Mission marked as complete
How to Propose a Mission
Got an idea that would benefit the whole community? Here's how to propose it:
1. Check Existing Missions
Review the current mission board to avoid duplicates.
2. Open a Proposal
Create a new issue in our GitHub project with:
- Problem Statement — what needs to be solved?
- Proposed Solution — your approach to solving it
- Community Benefit — how does this help other builders?
- Success Criteria — what does "done" look like?
- Estimated Scope — rough timeline and complexity
3. Community Review
The community and DAO will review proposals considering:
- Alignment with ecosystem goals
- Community impact potential
- Resource availability
- Technical feasibility
4. Mission Creation
Approved proposals become official missions with:
- Clear requirements and deliverables
- Assigned priority level
- Estimated reward range
- Application timeline

Questions?
Where can I ask questions about missions?
Join our Discord and ask in the #builders-chat channel.
Can I work on multiple missions at once?
Yes, but communicate clearly about your availability and timeline commitments.
What if I can't complete a mission?
Let us know immediately. We can reassign or break it into smaller pieces.
Do I need to be a DAO member to contribute?
No, missions are open to all contributors. However, each mission completed also increases DAO governance rights.
How are disputes resolved?
Through community discussion and DAO governance processes when needed.
Missions are part of the $4,000 monthly allocation for grants, bounties, and missions from the Intuition Box treasury.
